When I look at this photo I start first by wondering how did you see the interest in those details. Generally when we are wondering with a camera, we never take the time to stop and look at minute details we can capture
This photo is absolutely amazing ticking all the criteria for an excellent capture:
- Composition : Great use of the diagonal to increase impact! The details of the leaf just fall naturally into place taking you on a journey inside that maze! I would have liked though a more accurate starting point in the corner of the frame.
- Focus : The patterns pop out instantly when you look at it. The front blur being a bit distracting but would not be possible to reduce except with a tilt-shift lens that costs as much as a car
- Vision : Norhing else to say that I can look at this photo and get inspired in so many ways: I can see a maze, a life choice (the three main paths) distractions that can always happen and the uncertainty at the horizon.
- Orginality : Leaf photos are often too common but in this one there was a new subject being looked at.
- Technique : Due to camera not being a full dslr, sharpness and focus unfortunatly suffered.
- Impact : The first time you look at this photo you will not want to take your eyes off until you have discovered every pattern. How is that for impact?
